The image on the label honors Corp. Asa Kimble, my 3x great-grandfather. He was born in West Virginia in the 1830’s and served bravely as a Union soldier during the Civil War. He died of starvation in 1865 at Florence Stockade, a Confederate prison, at only 28 years old. This was just a month before the prison was liberated. Asa was survived by his widow first cousin Elizabeth Ellen Kimble and their four children.
(Hey, what can we say- it was the 1800’s after all folks)
—————————
Each bottle of our small-batch Bitters is a tribute to Asa’s legacy, and to the many others who fought for freedom in those very turbulent times.
To us at Kimbles Roots, these tasty Eastern Appalachian Elixirs encapsulate the bitter/sweet nature of life's journey, while honoring the unwavering perseverance of the Appalachian people.

Usage Suggestions:
Add a few dashes to cocktails, mocktails, sparkling water, coffee, you name it.
